The Pattaya Police arrested 7 Uzbekistan Nationals on Pattaya Beach and accused them of providing sexual services in exchange for money. Each of the arrestees were carrying passports or copies of their passport Photo pages and had entered Thailand on Tourist Visas which do not permit any form of work.

Finnish Jumps from 11th floor Cause Girlfriend Gone

Mr. Jari Mikko Majuri aged 46 from jumped from 11th floor of Golden Pattaya Condominium. Khun Gamonwan is 30 year old confirmed their 7 year relationship was fraught with problems. Earlier in the week, she had gone back to her home town but received many calls from Mr. Majuri. He was upset she had gone. He allegedly claimed prior to her leaving Pattaya that he would kill himself if she went. It is thought he committed suicide moments before his wife returned to their apartment. An apparent suicide note was found which stated: “Remember me Jari. Forever Jane” and Mr. Majuri is thought to have jumped whilst holding his laptop computer.

Found Finnish Fraud Suspect in Pattaya Thailand

Chonburi Immigration and Police Officers from Finland conducted a raid of a house in Central Pattaya owned by a Finnish accused of a 2 Million Euro fraud case.  were met Khun Pisamai is 42 year old married to Mr. Hannu Tapani Torpstrom is 64 year old. Mr. Hannu Tapani Torpstrom was arrested in Helsinki and accused of defrauding the Finnish Government out of the money which should have been used to construct a new road. In fact. Mr. Torpstrom is accused of fleeing to Thailand with the money instead. His Thai Wife received regular payments from Husband who had returned to Finland in 2011 claims to have no knowledge of the case and is not expected to be a part of the investigation. The house and other assets have now been seized by the Thai authorities who are working closely with their Finnish counterparts as the case progresses.

Bali Hai Checking Points Pattaya Thailand

Pattaya police are tightening security around Bali Hai Pier with a trio of traffic checkpoints aimed at cutting the number of crimes in the Bali Hai area. The checkpoints will run from 10.30 am. to midnight until further notice. A popular gathering place for teens and site of numerous gang-related incidents, Bali Hai will now have police stationed under the overpass near the pier and two between Banglamung and the Pattaya Courthouse.

Buddhist Lent with Walk in Pattaya Thailand

Pattaya City will mark the beginning of Buddhist Lent with a Visakha Bucha Day walk-run and parade 4 June. The walk-run will offer a 6 km run and 2 km run beginning at 03.30 pm. on Pratamnak Hill. Bicyclists will also be allowed and water stations will be set up along the route. The event is meant as a sign of commitment to the 5 Buddhist precepts and to avoid all vices during the 3 month lent period. Participants will parade towards the Big Buddha on the hill to participate in the Wien Thien ceremony. Those wanting to compete can contact or sign up at the TAT office on Pratamnak Hill on the day of the run. The 100 baht entry fee includes a commemorative shirt.

One Stop Service for Residents in Pattaya

The Banglamung District Office has opened an One Stop Service for paying utility and tax bills. Residents can use the center to pay Provincial Waterworks Authority, TOT Co., Chonburi Excise Office 2, and Department of Land Transport tax and insurance bills. The center will also accept applications for alcohol and tobacco permits Tuesdays and Thursdays. Government Savings Bank representatives will also be on hand to accept loan payments and handle deposits and withdrawals. 40-50 people a day are using the one-stop center. Time to Clean Dolphin Roundabout in Pattaya City

About 10 workers drained the murky, algae-filled water 16 May, scrubbing out the fountain to heal a long-standing eyesore. The civil servants redecorated the garden, trimmed trees and chemically cleaned the sculpture with long brushes. Finally, the dolphins themselves got the wet-towel treatment. The work drew crowds of residents happy to see that government workers, however belatedly, were finally putting their tax money to work.
