Thai-US CARAT Military Exercise 2012

The arrival of four U.S. Navy ships and several aircraft at various ports marks the beginning of 18th Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2012. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the Armed Forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Additionally, Vietnam participates in a CARAT-like skills exchange. The commander overseeing the exercise for the US Navy is Rear Admiral Thomas Carney who joined Vice Admiral Surachai, Fleet Chief of Staff for the Royal Thai Navy at the opening ceremony at Sattahip Navy Base. The Thai phase of the nine-day exercise which began, not only strengthens relationships between theUS Navy’s and Thai but also ensures battle readiness for both sides.

Police detained Mother and Daughter on Walking Street Pattaya Thailand

People on Walking Street complained to Police regarding a woman, who appeared constantly drunk who was accompanied by a young child who would be seen begging for money while her mother sat nearby drinking Thai Whisky. The Police detained Khun Pigoon is 39 year old and her child is 8 year old and began by confirming that she was the biological mother of the child. Khun Pigoon appeared intoxicated and the child appeared to be in good condition despite working on the streets late at night. Khun Pigoon confirmed her child would make between 200 and 300 Baht every night and some would be used to purchase Thai Whisky and a small portion would be given to her daughter to purchase food.

Police arrested Call Center Gang in Pattaya

The Immigration Police Region 3 led the operation to shut-down the center on the strength of a search warrant for a property in Nong Pla Lai on the outskirts of Pattaya. Immigration Officers entered the luxury house which had been converted into the call center with living quarters for 26 people on the 2nd floor. Officers arrested nine Chinese nationals and seized equipment such as computers and telephones used by the operators who would attempt to scam money from their fellow countrymen based in China along with others based in Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and in Thailand from their location in Pattaya.

Pattaya Police arrested Columbian Thieves

Pattaya police was notified about three Colombians suspected of multiple burglaries around Bangkok. The thieves had stolen valuables and a safety box from 10 houses in residential located in Nonthaburi, Samutprakarn, Pathumthani, Samutsakorn and Chonburi provinces. The three Colombians were arrested at Thip Plaza were identified: Mr. Wilson Ricardo Ramos Samaca is 36 year old Mr. Brayan Omar Corredor Fuentes is 22 year old and Mr. William David Corredor Fuentes is 24 year old. As the police inspected the packages ready to be exported to Columbia they found 70 stolen items such as Rolex watches, a gold bracelet, gold necklaces, a diamond ring, a gold ring, bar of gold, gold earrings, an ivory ring, 25 satang gold coins. The total value is about 4 million Baht. Upon investigation the 3 Columbians confessed that they were going to export all the goods which they had stolen from millionaires houses in central Thailand since 1 May, 2012

Free Buses for Pattaya City Schools Students

Itthiphol Kunplome is Pattaya Mayor has helped ease expenses by launching 10 school buses for public school students. Ten fully air-conditioned buses are set to pick students up from various bus stops and drop them off to Pattaya City Schools from 18 May onwards. They are currently renting these buses for the period of 5 years. The buses use CNG gas and each bus can hold about 70 passengers. The bus is 12 meters long with one entrance door and one emergency door. Employed 20 bus drivers and care takers to be on the bus with the students. Each bus is equipped with a radio which will be used for performance reporting and emergency notifications.

New Pattaya World Class Marine Transport Center

Bali Hai Pier is also used as a marine harbor, especially for passengers to Koh Larn. It will now become a more significant hub for Pattaya. Pattaya is currently experiencing parking problems for vehicles and a shortage of space to store marine craft. These problems led Pattaya City officials to build a new parking center and combine it with an international marine transport hub. This new transport center, which will accommodate boats and vehicles to serve the citizens of Pattaya and their guests, received an approved budget of THB 733 Million. The contractor selected for the project is the PING Joint Venture. Construction began in January 2011 and is expected to be completed in July 2013 for a total of 540 days. The new transport center will accommodate 360 marine craft and 417 . MBK may build Complex in Pattaya Thailand

MBK plc would choose between developing 18 rai on Beach road now occupied by the Montien Hotel into a hotel-condominium complex or selling the land. The lease expires next January. If MBK sells the land, it will gain about 1 billion baht.  If it opts to develop the plot, the restoration and rebuilding will take about 4 years. It is joining with the Dusit Thani group to develop a 5 star resort hotel in the Maldives–MBK’s first investment in an overseas hotel. Australian Kill Thai in Pattaya Thailand

Mr.Semus Michael Macintosh age 29 from Australia, was taken into custody near the McDonald’s restaurant on Beach Road in South of Pattaya. He was holding a bloody 20-cm. knife when apprehended. Mr. Wattana Aumtai was 32-year-old  who had suffered a 12 cm. cut to his face and was bleeding profusely. Police Volunteer said he came on the scene when Macintosh was assaulting Wattana and said he witnessed the Australian stab him once before kicking the suspect off the Thai man and calling police. Macintosh defended himself, saying he had slashed Wattana in self-defense after the Thai had attacked him first. The Aussie was booked on attempted murder charges as police look into the matter more closely.
